Working Intuitively with Vince Montague April 19th 6 - 8pm

$10.00

Vince Montague has a long connection to Ruby's, and we are happy to host him for a Friday Night Lights event.

In this demonstration and talk Vince will share his working methods for making pots and sculpture.

"I believe that clay has the ability to alter our perceptions if we allow ourselves to be open to the material itself. Technique can be taught, but everyone’s path in art is a journey in self-discovery. I will share how I became a potter through my experience with grief, writing, and the beauty of working with my hands."

Vince will read an excerpt from his book Cracked Pot,  a memoir about his experience with clay, which will be available for purchase.

Artist Bio:

I took my first pottery class at Ruby’s Clay Studio in 2010. Working in clay transformed my life. I am a full time studio potter in Cloverdale, CA. My work is shown locally at Hugomento and recently at AMOCA Fahrenheit 2024. I am the author of Cracked Pot (Latah Books 2023) a memoir about creativity, grief and ceramics.
