Ruby's Clay Studio is a non-profit arts center whose objectives are to promote community appreciation of the ceramic arts and to encourage self-expression and technical and artistic development through exhibitions, classes and the resources provided by a shared learning facility.

Monthly Meeting

Date: Next Monthly Community Meeting is Wednesday, May 29th, 2019 at 6:30 PM (the 1st floor community work area will be closed for approximately 1 hour; No Drop-In hours).

Manager Announcements:  Gallery show schedule and applications for 2019 are posted on the Committee Bulletin Board at the studio and on our website on the Gallery page.

Committee Announcements:  We need Volunteers for Bowlicious! and also for Studio Committees.

Board Announcements:  Next Board Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 16th at the Castro Meeting Room above the Bank of America from 4 to 6pm. Please let management or a Board Member know if you wish to attend.


Community Information for the Month

Financial Assistance Program: The Finance Committee will be determining the awardee.

Community Bisque Firing*: Monday, May 6th – Friday, May 10th, fired by Drew

Community Glaze Firing*: Thursday, May 23rd – Monday, May 27th, fired by Drew

Clay Order:  Thursday, April 25th (deadline 12:00 PM); Thursday, May 23rd (deadline 12:00 PM)

Damp Room Purge: Friday, May 24th (usually occurs the second to last Friday every month)

Holidays: No Manager Hours & No Drop-In Monday, May 27th for Memorial Day

*Community Firings are for community work produced in the studio only. The studio does not  provide personal private firings for work created outside of the studio


Rental Fees

NOTICE: Effective March 1st, 2019

If you are interested in becoming a Locker Holder you must sign up in person at the studio during manager hours.

Full Spaces – $288 per month, or $278 with 1 hour of Volunteer Credit

Half Spaces – $149 per month, or $139 with 1 hour of Volunteer Credit

Lockers – $105 per month, or $95 with 1 hour of Volunteer Credit

Rental Shelves – $27 monthly (not eligible for Volunteer Credit)

Late Fee –$15.00 due for rental payments made after the 10th of the month


Studio Kilns & Firing Fees

The studio doesn't provide personal firing services for non-studio users. If you are a school or other non-profit organization looking for firing services, please see our Community Outreach page.

Volunteer Credit Jobs

Can you help Ruby’s with the any of the following jobs?

Earn credit off your monthly rent on any of these jobs as well as our sincere gratitude!

1. Loading and unloading the electric kiln for our outreach firings, once a month.

2. Assist with the monthly purge of the damp room.

3. Helping to repaint glaze ware shelves to prevent iron dust.

4. Assist with installing new shelving in the Damp Room and Kiln Room.
